The trading session in NSE is divided into three sessions:
  • Pre-open Session:  The entry of orders and modifications starts from 9:00 AM and closes on 9:08 AM.
  • Regular Trading session: The normal market is open to trade during this session. It opens on 9:15 AM and closes on 3:30 PM.
  • Closing session: This session opens at 3:40 PM and closes at 4:00 PM.
The block deal sessions are divided into two sessions:
  • Morning Block Deal Window: This session opens at 8:45 AM and closes on 9:00 AM.
  • Afternoon Block Deal Window: This session opens at 2:05 PM and closes on 2:20 PM.

NOTE: The exchange may change timings of trading on a particular day and it may suspend trading on a particular day as well due to some reasons. Any change of timing or Trading suspension will be notified by the exchange in future.




NSE Holidays in January 2020

In January 2020, there are only 1 NSE Holidays because the rest of the holidays fell on Saturdays and Sundays. The only holiday in January 2020 will be on 1 January 2020 on the occasion of New Year. 

  • New Year :  1 Jan, 2020  Wednesday


NSE Holidays in February 2020

In February 2020, there are only 1 NSE Holidays because the rest of the holidays fell on Saturdays and Sundays. The only holiday in February 2020 will be on 21 February 2020 on the occasion of Mahashivratri.

NSE Holidays in March 2020

In March 2020, there are only 1 NSE Holidays because of the rest of the holidays fell on Saturdays and Sundays. The only holiday in March 2020 will be on 10 March 2020 on the occasion of Holi.

In April  2020, there are four NSE Holidays. The  holidays in April 2020 are as follow:

In May 2020, there are only 2 NSE Holidays because there are not many holidays that fell in May. The only two holidays in May 2020 are as follow:

  • Maharashtra Day  :  1 May, 2020     Friday
  • Eid - Ul- Fitr(Ramzan) :  25 May, 2020      Monday 


NSE Holidays in June 2020

In June 2020, there are not any major holidays for the NSE to be closed. There are some holidays on the regional level in various states but NSE will be opened on these minor state level holidays in June 2020. 


NSE Holidays in July 2020

In July 2020, there are not any major holidays for the NSE to be closed. There are some holidays on the regional level in various states but NSE will be opened on these minor state level holidays in July 2020.


NSE Holidays in August 2020

In August  2020, all the primary holidays like Bakri Id, Independence day, Ganesh Chaturthi and Moharram are falling on Saturdays and Sundays. Therefore, NSE will be opened on all the working days in August 2020. The holidays falling on Saturdays and Sundays are given below: 

  • Bakri Id: 1 August 2020 (Saturday)
  • Independence Day:  15 August 2020 (Saturday)
  • Ganesh Chaturthi:  22 August 2020 (Saturday)
  • Moharram: 30 August 2020  (Sunday)


NSE Holidays in September 2020

In September  2020, there are not any major holidays for the NSE to be closed. There are some holidays on the regional level in various states but NSE will be opened on these minor state-level holidays in September 2020.
 

NSE Holidays in October 2020

In October  2020, there are only 1 NSE Holidays because the rest of the holidays fell on Saturdays and Sundays like Dusherra on 25 October(Sunday). The only holiday in October 2020 will be on 2 October 2020 on the occasion of Mahatma Gandhi Jayanti.
